그리고 이 곳에 유명한 네셔널 지오그래픽 아이멕스 무비와 박물관이 있는데... 아이맥스 무비는 화면의 웅장함 때문에 정말 볼만했지만, 박물관의 특별 전시가 글세.. 이집트에 관한 것이 아닌가.. 사실 진짜 이집트도 다녀왔고- 카이로에서 박물관도 당연히 갔었고.. 프랑스의 르부루, 영국의 대영박물관, 그 밖에 로마와 터키의 오벨리스크들.. 이런 상황이니 솔직히 거기 특별 전시가 특별히 느껴질 리가 없었다. ^^a 그런데 아저씨가 너무 좋을거라고 하시고 잘해주셔서 거절할 수 없이 특별 전시 갔다가.. 아저씨는 2시간 걸려서 봤다는 거를 나는 10분만에 얼릉 나와버려서 빅토리아 시내 구경을 다녔으니.. 그런 기억도 나고~
여행중 사람을 방문하면 여러가지 장점이 많다. 그 사람에 대해 더 잘 알게 되고 그 사람들의 삶을 보게된다. 잘 몰랐는데 아저씨가 글세 멀쉬쉽에서 15년이나 사역하셨다고 한다. 허곡.. 그런 배경에서 부인 로레인이 캐나다 대표로 발탁되면서 고향땅을 밟으셨다고 하는데.. 캐나다로 돌아오셔서 조금은 지루하신 것 같다.(사실 아저씨가 컴퓨터 게임을 즐기시는 게 얼마나 깼는지 모른다.. 하하.. 그래도 아저씨도 사람이고~ 내가 더 편견을 가지고 있는 거겠지..) 좀 더 세계를 밟으시며서 더 사역하시고 싶어하는 것 같았다. 그래서 앞으로의 일들을 이야기 나누었는데.. 일본이나 한국 쪽으로 영어 선생님하시면서 침을 배우고 싶다 하신다. 왜냐면 아프리카에서 침으로 사람들을 많이 치료해주는 것을 인상적으로 보았기 때문이란다. 아니면 그 동안 해 오셨던 에이즈 예방 교육과 건강 교육에 관한 센터 설립을 아프리카에서 해보고 싶다고 하신다. 아저씨는 아이가 둘 있는데.. 지금 해병에서 일하고 있는 23살 아이와 집에서 학교 다니고 있는 15살 짜리 라이언.. 우리 나라 갔으면 정년퇴임후를 생각한 나이인데 아저씨는 오히려 더 여러가지 꿈을 가지고 사시는 것 같아서 보기 좋았다. 우리 아버지 생각도 많이 났는데^^ 나도 남동생 한명이고 아버지도 장애인과 관련된 일을 하시고.. 리차드아저씨랑 비슷한 생각이 ^^ 아버지랑 한국에 돌아갔을때 이런 이야기를 많이 나누었는데~ 내가 지금 하고 있는 경험을 읽어보시고 나누시면서 더욱 힘내시구 젊고~ 리차드 아저씨처럼 좋은 일들 더 많이 하시리라 믿구^^ 응원해드리고 싶다 !
재밌는건 이 아저씨 아들 라이언의 삶.. 배에서 태어나서 자기 평생을 배에서만 살다가 캐나다에서 정착해서 살기 시작한지 이제야 1년.. 리차드 아저씨는 자기 아들이 물론 캐나다 사람들이 무었을 좋아하는지 무엇을 먹는지 그 또래 아이들과 어떻게 어울려야 할 지 잘 몰라서 많이 힘들었겠지만... 배 생활 15년간 많은 유럽 국가를 다니며 사는 모습을 지켜보았고.. 많은 아프리카 국가들의 기근과 삶을 몸소 체험했기에 나중에 더욱 크고 멋진 삶을 살 것이라 자신하셨다. 그런 라이언이 부럽기도 했다^^
그리고 그 라이언과 게 친구랑 영화를 보러 갔다. 스카이 캡틴이라는 만화같은 영화였는데.. 영어는 둘째치고 완전 유치 해서 지루해 죽는줄 알았다 ㅠㅜ 근데 라이언 게는 친구는 그래픽이 멋지지 않냐면서 진짜 좋아한다. ㅋㅋ 애덜은 애덜이군 하는 생각과 나도 점점 어른이 되어가는 구나 라는 생각이 동시에 들었다. (미국서 본 두 편의 영화는 뉴욕서.. 새로 나온 엑소시스트랑 나의 엄청난 궁금증.. 도데체 둘이 어떻게 만났는가??? 를 자극했던.. 에일리언데 프레데터~ 아참.. 패션.. 것도 다시 봤었지..)
캐나다 머쉬쉽 사무실에 가서는 이것저것 구경하고 그랬는데 사무실서 일하는 사람들 만나서 정말 좋았다(우리나라로 치면 다들 간사님이겠쥐..) 다들 내 여행하는거 듣고 대단하다면서 격려도 해 주고~.. 근데 재밌는 것은 사무실이 3시만 되면 문 닫아버린다. 사람들 그 때 다 퇴근하고 아이들 차로 픽업 나가고.. 사실 노르웨이 갔을 때에도 금요일에는 일 안했었지.. 우리나라의 약간 바쁜(?) 분위기가 여기도 적응되는 건가 생각도 해 보았고.. 젤 좋았던 것은.. 행정적인 이야기를 많이 들을 수 있었던 것. 텍사스의 머쉬쉽 오피스가 본부인데.. 캐나다 쪽에서 느끼기는 캐나다 머쉬쉽을 더 홍보하고 독립적으로 키우고 싶은데 미국 쪽에서는 그런 것 보다는 캐나다에서 머쉬쉽을 통한 모아지는 돈을 보내주는 일이 주된 것이라고 더욱 강하게 생각하고 있다고 한다. 이런 이야기가 나온 것은 캐나다 머쉬쉽 아침에 간 날에~ 캐나다 방송국에서 머쉬쉽에 대한 프로그램을 하고 있었는데..(하하 진짜 기뻤다~) 나중에 후원에 대한 전화번호가 캐나다 쪽이 나온 것이 아니라 미국쪽으로 나왔기 때문이다... 약간 복잡한 문제인 듯 하다~

그.. 그리고 시애틀은 ... 밤에 도착해서 호스텔에서 하루밤 잔 후에~ 바로 다음날 시카고로 날아갔기 때문에 밤에 야경만 구경했을 뿐이다. 머 그래도 떠나기 전에 호스텔을 검색해서 무대뽀로 지도 하나 안 가지고 주소만 적어가서 모험가 정신으로 호스텔을 찾아낸 일과...(이럴 때면 마치 예전에 내가 게임의 주인공이 된 듯하다... 18kg이나 되는 왠만한 것들이 들어있는 배낭 하나 매고~ 전혀 미지의 세계에서 길을 찾아 헤메며 알 수 없는 만남을 이루어가고... -_-a 하지만 이건 현실이다.. 배고파온다.. 빨리 숙소를 찾아야..) 각종 사람들이 모인 호스텔에서의 하룻밤.. 한국사람 싸이 월드 하는거 보고 그제서야 알아차렸는데.. 좀 더 빨리 알았더라면 좀 더 이야기 나누고 좋았을 터인데.. 아쉬웠다.. 그리고 글세.. 처음으로.. 뱅기를 많이 타봤것만~ 내 비행기가 딜레이 되는 경험을 했다.. 그래서 내 뱅기표가~ 시간변경시 추가요금이 없기 때문에 바로 다음 비행기로 Stand by를 걸었는데..
